"Seussical" is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza which brings to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie, and a little boy with a big imagination--Jojo. The show's colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. The story centers around Horton the Elephant, who finds himself faced with a double challenge--not only must he protect his tiny friend Jojo (and all the invisible Whos) from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him, the only one who recognizes "his kind and his powerful heart." Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant, in a story that makes you laugh and cry.
Built around the songs made famous by Elvis Presley, All Shook Up tells the story of a small town girl with big dreams and the motorcycle-riding stud she falls for. The story is based on William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, which takes the audience through multiple romantic entanglements and hysterical mix-ups. Featuring such songs as "Jailhouse Rock", "Heartbreak Hotel" and "It's Now or Never" this show is sure to ensure a fun, crowd pleasing evening.
Set in 1934, the farce revolves around renowned tenor Tito Merelli, known to his fans as "Il Stupendo," who is scheduled to sing the lead in Otello, produced as a gala fundraiser for the Cleveland Opera Company. Unfortunately, even before the star leaves his hotel room, everything begins to unravel. Chaos ensues when Merelli's wife, who has mistaken an autograph-seeker hidden in his closet for a secret lover, leaves him a "Dear John" letter. The distraught Merelli accidentally is given a double dose of tranquilizers to calm him and passes out. Saunders, the company's General Manager, is determined the show must go on (for his own financial sake), so he asks his assistant Max to impersonate the opera star. Max puts on the blackface makeup required for the role of Otello, and his disguise succeeds admirably--until Merelli, also in blackface, wakes up and heads for the stage. What follows is a chain-reaction of mistaken identity, plot twists, double entendres, and innuendoes.
Based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming musical adaptation features seventeen Irving Berlin songs . Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander. The dazzling score features well known standards including Blue Skies, I Love A Piano, How Deep Is the Ocean and the perennial favorite, White Christmas.
Meet Me In St. Louis is a rare treasure in the musical theatre, and is based on the heartwarming movie. It is the story of a happy family's life, as they anticipate the wonders of the 1904 World's Fair. The play includes seven of the best loved songs from the film and ten other wonderful numbers, also by Martin and Blane, written specially for the stage. Come spend an evening with the Smith's and see how their love and respect for each other is tempered with the genuine humor that can only be generated by such a special family. Memorable musical numbers include The Boy Next Door, The Trolley Song, and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
This new musical adaptation of The Three Musketeers celebrates Dumas's romantic vision of honour, friendship, and lust for life. The energy and the passion of the four heroes - Athos, Porthos, Aramis and the young D'Artagnan - form the central focus, as they thread their way through the political intrigues that surround them. The story follows the fortunes of the young D'Artagnan, who leaves home to seek for adventure and glory in Paris with the King's Musketeers. In the background, there is the clandestine passion of the English Duke of Buckingham for the French Queen, Anne, and all its political fall-out. In the foreground, D'Artagnan falls in love with the Queen's seamstress, Constance Bonacieux, and finds himself entangled with the mysterious Milady de Winter, a beautiful adventuress with several pasts - one of them as the wife of Athos.
